Mar Menor Life is an independent local guide to Europe's largest saltwater lagoon and the towns that surround it.
Why we built this
When you arrive on the Mar Menor — whether for a fortnight or for good — the same questions come up again and again. Where's a good place to eat? Who's a reliable electrician? Which beach suits small children? How do I register with a doctor, get a NIE, or find a mortgage? The answers were scattered across dozens of Facebook groups, out-of-date blogs and word of mouth.
We put them in one place. Mar Menor Life brings together restaurants and bars, a full business directory, new-build property, what's on around the lagoon, and clear step-by-step guides to living in Spain — plus AI teachers to help you with Spanish and with traditional Murcian cooking.
We're not an estate agency and we're not a franchise. We work with a small number of trusted partners — a law firm, a mortgage broker and a language school — and we're open about it. Everything else on the site is here because it belongs on a guide to this corner of Murcia.
